The majority of Paterson’s schoolchildren fail to meet grade-level expectations in math and language arts, thus lacking basic literacy skills, and many suffer from adverse childhood experiences that result in anxiety, depression, and difficult classroom behaviors. The Oasis After-School Academy provides an early intervention outlet to the children of Paterson, giving them access to a dedicated staff of professionals who support and nurture them as well as a safe and structured educational environment focused on improving literacy in math and language arts. The program operates every day after school from 3:30-6:00 pm during the school year, from September through mid-June, and participating children and their families have access to all free programs and services Oasis provides, including daily hot breakfast and lunch, emergency food bags and clothing, and the support of a full-time social work team of four. The Oasis After-School Academy provides the academic and emotional support system Paterson’s disadvantaged children lack and empowers them to thrive in school and in life. We create more equitable educational and future career pathways for low-income children who then become positive educational role models for the children in the broader community.

Total Project Budget: $836,746.00

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): $248,500.00

Project Duration: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025 (12 months)
Geographical Area Served: Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Age Group To Be Served: 5-13

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Dr.
Contact First Name: Senem
Contact Last Name: Kaptan
Contact Title: Corporate and Foundation Grants Manager
Contact Phone: 973-881-8307×103
Contact Email: SenemKaptan@oasisnj.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 59 Mill Street City: Paterson State: New Jersey Postal Code: 07501 Main Phone: 973-881-8307 Main Fax: 973-881-1755 Organization Website: https://oasisnj.org/ Employer ID Number: 22-3491573 Organization Tax Status: 501(c)(3) tax exempt […]

[3

post-5489","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
