Brand-new emergency resources, including clothing, shoes, diapers, formula, socks and underwear, hygiene items, blankets, toys, and more are provided to children during a critical time in their lives. BEAR Necessities also provides “Safe Sleeping” items like cots, cribs, and mattresses, as well as “Trustworthy Transport” items like car seats and harnesses. Many of these children have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect allegations where their basic needs are not being met. Due to BEAR expanding our mission to include “at-risk” children as well as those involved in CPS, we have been able to partner with more community organizations to expand our impact even more. The expansion and new partnerships have led to a huge increase in the number of requests over the last few years, which requires BEAR to be in constant need of new stock in all of our BEAR Rooms. During our last fiscal year running from October 2022 through September 2023, over 29,000 children were served through the BEAR Necessities program.

Total Project Budget: $1,149,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Committed: The Meadows Foundation, The Junior League of Houston, Global O-Ring Charitable Foundation, Halliburton Charitable Foundation, Astros Foundation, Spotlight Energy, Vivian L.
