Project Title: College Support and Mentoring for Historically Underserved Students
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The TeamWork Education Foundation respectfully requests funding to support a newly formed partnership with Palm Beach State College that will help students pursue degrees, creating a cycle where promising kids embrace the opportunity for higher education in their community. Our goal is to nurture their passions and develop them into careers that will keep them in Palm Beach County and help them contribute to the long-term success and economic vitality of our community. Crucially, TeamWork does not limit its support to scholarship funding; as students transition into college and begin pursuing careers, they need a community of support to encourage, support, and guide them along the way. Volunteers at TeamWork and staff at Palm Beach State College will give students access to mentoring and other peer resources so they can reach their full potential while pursuing their degrees. Upon graduation, they will have marketable skills that set them up to pursue high-paying jobs, ensuring tomorrow\u2019s workforce is well-suited to sustain and grow the local economy.<\/p>\n
Since 2012, TeamWork has awarded over 800 scholarships, totaling over $2 million in support of local students who are pursuing higher education. This partnership builds upon that work, solidifying the pipeline of local students to Palm Beach State College and building a support system that will get more students to graduation and into the workforce with the skills they need to pursue stable, high-paying jobs. If fully funded, this grant will provide scholarships to three aspiring Palm Beach State students.<\/p>\n

\nSources For The Project (Committed & Potential): TeamWork relies heavily on the generosity of individual donors to support our ongoing operations. Additionally, we have pending grant applications before First Citizens Bank and the Mirasol Foundation, and we are in the process of cultivating new corporate and foundation donors.<\/p>\n
