Project Title: Bully Stopper Program
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Our project is to implement our Bully Stoppers program to communities with high rates of violence and bullying. Over the next 8 months we will educate 500 youth, educators and parents on what bullying is and what it is not. Our youth-based and adult program is interactive and focuses on developing life and relationship skills; highlighting the impact bullying has on your mental and physical health; identifying your self-worth and positive reinforcement as well as bridging the responsibility between the youth and the adults. There is a pre-evaluation to establish a baseline of information. The youth are encourage to be part of the solution as well as the adults as part of the workshops. We use our book My Bully, My Friend to introduce the topic of bullying which opens the conversation with relatable characters and situations. The lesson in the book shows how we can break the barriers and behaviors behind bullying. The book along with other resources are included with the program. These components are used to reach many ages, races, backgrounds, and social statuses. Our goal is to reach the person being bullied and the person doing the bullying since they may have at some point been bullied themselves. We want to break that cycle of bullying.<\/p>\n
