The Taproots Mini-Week Program was created to address the inequities of access to summer camp in the U.S. The benefits of summer camp are positive and life-changing, but many kids will never have the opportunity to attend.<\/p>\n
The Taproots Mini-Week is a tuition-free mini-week of summer camp that takes place every August. Working in partnership with other organizations in Michigan, Taproots brings children from low-income households to Camp Walden for a four day, three night sleep-away camp experience. Mini Week offers kids a taste of the independence and activities of overnight camp \u2013 campfires & s\u2019mores, mess hall meals, swimming in the lake, arts & crafts, sports & games, cabin life, and much more. The goal of Taproots Mini-Week is to inspire and empower kids to try new things and build confidence that will help them reach their full potential in life.\n<\/p>\n
