Project Title: Walk-in Freezer to serve MMBB Mission
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The Milk Bank for Babies (MMBB) mission is to improve infant health outcomes by ensuring that medically vulnerable babies in MN and the Upper Midwest have access to safely pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM) when mother\u2019s milk is unavailable or in low supply. MMBB is the sole distributor of PDHM in Minnesota, and in the last four years, we have witnessed a steady increase in the number of milk donors, milk recipients, distribution sites, milk depots, and bottles of milk dispensed. Since 2020, we have distributed over 824,817 oz. of milk, all generously provided by 1,257 donors to 33 hospitals across the region. As the demand for PDHM grows, a larger facility is needed. With our lease expiring in March 2024, we’ve secured a new site in Roseville. Construction is underway however, we still need additional equipment to respond to the increased need in the community specifically an additional Walk-in freezer box \u2013 ($36,000) to increase our capacity to enable efficient storage, inventory management, and distribution of milk while complying with health and safety standards.<\/p>\n
