EYM will holistically impact and\/or transform the lives and\/or professional trajectories of low-income, underserved, marginalized, \u201cat-promise\u201d (formerly known as at-risk) youth, by extending\/expanding its multifaceted customized programs, services and leveraged resources to deliver the critical tools needed to address unfinished learning, gaps in educational achievement, emotional\/behavioral development, parent participation levels, and racial inequities. <\/p>\n
EYMs provided resources (64 hrs. per month, per student) will address the needs of historically disadvantaged, exploited, excluded, and\/or discriminated youth Pre K-12th grades who are at-risk of the following; low overall GPAs, limited access to collegiate resources; IEP’s or labeled ADD\/ADHD with behavioral disorders, homelessness, low parent participation levels, juvenile incarceration, abuse\/self-abuse, gang participation and\/or suicidal thoughts. <\/p>\n
Addressing both prior academic and emotional needs as well as emerging needs of our historically underrepresented youth, EYMs objective include extended\/expanded tutorial and computer tech resources and hours; increased access to study, test, and time management strategies; increased student enrollment and parent participation levels; and expanded mentoring and behavior\/mental health workshops.<\/p>\n
Creating career ready individuals who are prepared for college and job opportunities in sync with industry demands and skills needed, students will receive the following customized programs:
\nEYM\/Ray Charles After-School Tutorial\/Enrichment: (all subjects) includes STEAM and AP\/Honors subjects..
\nCollege Access & Life Skills Initiative (CALI): SAT\/college application\/matriculation \/FAFSA and financial literacy workshops.
\nBanks Family Tech, ComputerTraining: coding\/virtual reality, and web\/game design.
\nGRX Immersive Lab: interactive technologies, storytelling, and entrepreneurship.
\nCareer Webinar Series: industry skill sets.
\nMentoring\/Counseling: Learn to cope with problems, crisis situations, and define goals.
\nAccess\/No Excuse: (Early Learners) Interactive resources\/curriculum in 2D\/3D with tests\/quizzes\/games in video format. (24\/7 access)
