Project Title: Second Cohort (6 Individuals) – CASA Volunteer Recruitment, Screening, Training, and Supervision
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The population that we serve – infants, children, and youth, who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect – are helpless and have had no control over what has happened to them. At any given point in time in our service region, we have approximately 12-15 such youth, whose cases are active in the court system and who are in the foster care system. CASA of NorthCentral Nebraska is currently striving to recruit, screen, train, and supervise approximately 12 volunteers (per year) to begin to meet the critical needs of this highly underserved and historically "invisible" population in North Central Nebraska. <\/p>\n
