\nBuffalo Prenatal Perinatal Network is seeking funding to launch a new project called, \u201cBeds for Kids\u201d to purchase cribs, toddler beds and mattresses for clients who are displaced women with children due to domestic violence or living in shelters or on the streets.<\/p>\n
We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Across the U.S., too many boys and girls go without a bed \u2013 or even a pillow \u2013 to sleep on. Over 800 in Western New York end up sleeping on couches, air mattresses, blankets, floors or with other members of their family. This can affect their happiness and health; it will break your heart.<\/p>\n
Buffalo Prenatal Perinatal Network mission is to help families who are currently lacking resources to establish (or reestablish) a self-sufficient life by providing them with the necessities of a functional home environment. We focus on ending child bedlessness to improve overall health and wellbeing. Through our \u201cBeds for Kids\u201d Project, we will provide babies and children living in poverty with beds, bedding, and tools that encourage healthy bedtime habits, so they can get the quality and sufficient sleep they need to thrive.<\/p>\n
