Project Title: The "Pink" LemonAid Project

We believes that it takes a village to raise a child. In order for children to flourish and be well, their family and environment must also be well. LemonAid Brunch aims to bridge the gap between home and school, through The LemonAid Project. <\/p>\n
The LemonAid Project is a youth mentorship program for children in low-income areas. We facilitate monthly brunch meetings, provide mentorship and coaching, identify needs, help address challenges and wrap services around the child, as well as their family for at least one year.<\/p>\n
Because many people lack the proper tools to deal with adversity, depression, anxiety, suicide and substance abuse are increasing at an alarming rate. LAB\u2019s goal is to educate individuals, so they can develop positive coping skills to prevent these outcomes, and change behaviors. Age-appropriate education, consulting, coaching, and guidance in developing emotional intelligence will prepare the children, and their families, to deal with difficult life circumstances and set them up for success in the future. They will learn life skills, crisis management, problem resolution, positive coping, as well as a variety of other skills.

\nStatistics show that no matter the ethnicity, people in low-income areas and families of poor socioeconomic status do not have access to the best education and opportunities. It is our belief that increasing access, services, and resources, will reduce disparities, decrease maladaptive behaviors, increase self-awareness, and transform their way of thinking. This grant will help LAB be an equity champion for these children.\n<\/p>\n
