This initiative is a direct response to the escalating demand for accessible mental health resources, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic which has severely impacted teen girls’ mental well-being. Our commitment to providing quality mental health services is unwavering, and in an effort to extend our reach and impact, we are introducing the 1st Inaugural Mental Health Awareness Sneaker Ball as a key initiative within our grant proposal.

Background
The pandemic has had a profound effect on the mental health of individuals across the globe, with teen girls in the United States experiencing significant distress. Data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) highlights that nearly 60% of teen girls reported feelings of persistent sadness and hopelessness. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for increased mental health support and resources.

Objective
Our goal is to address this crisis by removing barriers to access and providing comprehensive support to those in need. The Mental Health Awareness Sneaker Ball is not just an event; it’s a movement towards creating a community that actively supports mental wellness and eradicates the stigma associated with seeking help.

Initiative Overview
The Mental Health Awareness Sneaker Ball aims to:

Raise Awareness: Highlight the mental health challenges faced by teen girls post-pandemic and the community’s role in providing support.
Promote Inclusivity: Ensure every participant can attend free of charge, making mental health support accessible to all.
Support Innovation: Introduce new and innovative programs designed to support and empower girls in our community.
Community Need
With only 4% of therapists being African American and ongoing health disparities, there’s a significant barrier to treatment for many. Our organization has a waitlist, indicating the growing need for services. We are determined to fill this gap by offering innovative programs that meet the community’s needs.

Call to Action
Your support and donation to the Mental Health Awareness Sneaker Ball will directly contribute to the success of this initiative, allowing us to provide these essential services free of charge. Together, we can build a mentally healthy environment for our women and young girls.

Contact Information
Lekeshia Lynch, LCSW, LISW-CP, MSW
CEO and Founder, International Center for Wellness, PLLC
President, Inspire Foundation
Phone: (704)918-5494 Ext. 101
Email: llynch@centerforwellnessint.com
Website: www.centerforwellnessint.com
Email: Inspire@centerforwellnessint.com
Website: www.inspirefoundationint.com

Total Project Budget: 100.000.00

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): The Internationl Center fot Wellness PLLC and Truist Bank

Project Duration: 2 year pilot pogram
Geographical Area Served: North Carolina and South Carolina
Age Group To Be Served: 10-24

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Lekeshia
Contact Last Name: Lynch
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 1704918-5494
Contact Email: inspire@centerforwellnessint.com

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Inspire of the Carolina’s Inc.
