We ask ourselves why so many children are fighting, seem disrespectful to others, are battling depression, or even taking their own lives. The increase in violence and bullying may be a cry for help. We believe most children just want to feel safe and be heard. Building families and communities allows our children to have that sense of safety. It is important to educate families and youth about the connection between bullying, mental stress, depression, and violence as well as the effects it can have on you as an adult if it’s not addressed. Kings Way International is hosting a Bullying Stoppers Basketball Tournament" that will combine education and community engagement to bring awareness to the effects of bullying and why a person may be bullying someone else. We are engaging individuals and organizations like you to partner with us to reconnect families and build communities. We are inviting youth basketball teams across the state to participate in two-day basketball tournament that will provide information and resources to those attending while building character, teamwork, and confidence in those who are being bullied or are doing the bullying. The knowledge that our speakers give will help our families recognize what bullying is and how to get help they need. The tournament will take place prior to students going back to school so they will take the information with them to the varies schools they attend across New Jersey. Parent engagement is just as important to have success so they are receiving the same information at the same time to reinforce what was learned.<\/p>\n
