Our mission is to provide intentional and proactive support, focusing on prevention and making a lasting impact on youth experience.

Tiny’s Village believes in a housing first approach, working to reduce barriers to housing instead of making young people meet requirements before they can achieve housing stability. Our services include:

Housing Services

· Housing navigation: Tiny’s Village has Housing Navigators that connects youth to housing placement through referrals to, housing choice voucher, permanent housing, transitional housing, interim housing, shared housing, affordable housing, and short-term rental assistance from 6 months to 1 year support. We locate available units, establish relationships with property owners or management companies. We advocate and act as the liaison. In 2023 we made 53 referrals to housing.

· Move in support: When a match has been made, we provide problem-solving assistance through the Los Angeles Housing Service Authority (LAHSA) for security deposits, 2 months of rental assistance, utilities assistance and food cards. Case Mangers provide on-going supportive services for 1 year. This support ensures they have the resources they need to thrive and remain stably housed.

Workforce Development and Employment Services

· Nail Care Unlimited: This is an enrichment program that teaches youth 16-24 the art of nail care technology with a focus on salon management. This is an 8-week program that provides apprenticeship training that will lead them into an accredited cosmetology school to apply learned skills for the completion of the state required exam for licensing. Youth will then be placed into employment as a licensed Manicurist within 30 days of completion.

· Entrepreneur training: Responding to the interest of youth in becoming self-employed or having their own business we created program in 2018 that teaches business development and business management in concession stand catering. This program provides direct employment placement into Scrappies Nachos events and catering.

We cater to various segments of the youth population, including emerging youth/young adults, at-risk youth/young adults, those aspiring to become leaders, low-income youth/young adults, disadvantaged youth, homeless youth/young adults, those exiting systems such as foster care and institutions, undocumented youth, and individuals facing mental health challenges and/or trauma.

Tiny’s Village embraces an inclusive philosophy, welcoming all young people without specific restrictions. Unlike many service providers, individuals don’t need to prove homelessness, foster care status, or any specific criteria to access our services. This approach eliminates barriers, ensuring that every young person seeking support is welcomed and assisted.

Our organization adopts a holistic and comprehensive approach to youth support. Beyond addressing immediate needs, we focus on long-term development, providing a wide range of services such as mentorship, leadership development, life skills guidance, housing preparation, artistic skill development, resource navigation, mental health support/awareness, career/employment exploration, community engagement, family reunification, and entrepreneur training.

Total Project Budget: 160,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority

Project Duration: 2 years
Geographical Area Served: SPA 8
Age Group To Be Served: 18-24 youth/young adults

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Ishimine
Contact Last Name: Caldwell
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 3105909246
Contact Email: icaldwell@tinysvillage.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Tiny’s Village Inc Legal Name (if Different): Ishimine Caldwell Also Known As: Mailing Address: P O Box 1124 City: Inglewood State: Ca Postal Code: 90308 Main Phone: 3105909246 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.tinysvillage.org Employer ID Number: 850563589 Organization Tax Status: 501 C 3 Proposal Information Today’s Date: […]

[3

post-4518","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
