Objective: Provide children with the necessary tools to succeed and to achieve their full potential. through early learning of their native Ukrainian language, traditions and art.
\nProject description: A school for children of preschool and primary school age. Classes are divided into two age groups: 3-6 years old and 6-9 years old. Classes meet twice a week for two hours with a 20-minute break. Subjects: Ukrainian language, art, music and theater. The main language lesson is held twice a week. Art and music and theater lessons are held once a week. Children are also involved in general activities of the Ukrainian community.
\nFeatures of the educational program:
\nUkrainian studies are integrated into three academic subjects:
\n– Ukrainian language is the main course. The school teaches the language based on the Fadienko methodology. Children are in the language environment, learn vowels and consonants, syllables, simple words; later they move on to reading. It is the language that preserves culturally significant national information and is the key to understanding the psychology of an ethnic group;
\n– Creativity is a course on studying culture and traditions through art and self-expression. It involves the use of progressive art techniques, broadening of the worldview, and development of creative thinking. Exhibitions of children’s works are planned;
\n– music and theater art – diction, stage speech, basics of public speaking, tongue twisters, vocal lessons, performances and performances with the participation of children.\n<\/p>\n
