Project Title: Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP)
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
In order to better align ourselves with our vision (\u201cTo be the world\u2019s greatest incubator and network of innovators, creatives and entrepreneurs dedicated to ending all forms of human trafficking and modern day slavery\u201d), we have developed a program specific to prevention among the youth in our community. Therefore, the purpose of this program is to reduce vulnerabilities for human trafficking among at-risk youth through job training and skills development education. The monies from this grant will be used for materials and supplies necessary for this 12-week program, including course materials and resources, catering for in-person courses, background checks for mentors, and more.
\nOver a 12-week cycle, our Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) will serve 25 unhoused youth, youth that are not currently enrolled in school, and\/or youth that are unemployed in the United States by teaching skills to prepare them for the workforce, trade careers, and entrepreneurial endeavors. We will provide this program 2-3 times a year. YEP encompasses 3 segments which participants will choose 1 to enroll in during the 12-week period. These include work-readiness, entrepreneurship\/business incorporation, and trade training\/certifications.
\nOur extensive and engaging curriculum will provide job training and skills development through extensive and engaging content. Participants will include youth between the ages of 14-24 and identify with a vulnerable and\/or marginalized category. By providing this curriculum to at-risk youth, we can increase employment and emotional intelligence among youth participants, which will prevent\/reduce participants\u2019 financial and emotional dependence on unscrupulous actors, and, subsequently, their risk for human trafficking, and related vulnerable conditions, like poverty.<\/p>\n
Support from your foundation will allow us to continue our Youth Entrepreneurship Program with the momentum it deserves and deliver it in the most meaningful way for long-term impact.\n<\/p>\n
