We empower minority youth to be community and global changemakers through mentoring relationships, life skills training (hard and soft skills), college preparedness, job readiness, community service and cultural experiences all of which increases their probability of success one empowering experience at a time. We believe that a consistent positive adult mentoring presence with tailored experiential lessons and positive interactions can usher youth through the formative years that shape their future endeavors.

As a philosophy, S2E views youth as precious assets to be nurtured and developed rather than as problems to be solved. S2E is both a philosophy and an approach to adolescent development. The approach that flows from this philosophy works on building mutually beneficial relationships between youth and their family, peer groups, school, society, and culture to provide opportunities for youth to enhance their knowledge, interests, skills, and abilities. Youth transition through a critical developmental phase, rapidly evolving socially, emotionally and physically within a complex world. Multiple factors influence how they develop and thrive or struggle. Recognizing youth development as a function of and interaction between complex environments and systems can help us better respond to youth and to program effectively.

Total Project Budget: 75,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): City (Daytona Beach) , State (Florida) and Federal funding

Project Duration: 10 weeks
Geographical Area Served: Central Florida
Age Group To Be Served: 13-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Daphne
Contact Last Name: Gassett
Contact Title: Founder
Contact Phone: 301-642-8265
Contact Email: strength2elevate@gmail.com

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Strength to Elevate, Inc.
