Since 1965, the supportive services of Community Action of Greater Indianapolis (CAGI) provided affordable housing, energy assistance, childcare, family support, car repair, education and training programs, transitional housing, lead remediation, emergency rental, and food assistance to lower-wealth residents throughout Indianapolis. With a mission to reduce and ultimately eliminate poverty for our participants throughout our service area, CAGI has served more than 40,000 households and 100,000 residents of Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, and Tipton Counties. <\/p>\n
The WE CANN (Community Action Neighborhood Network) Program: Through job building and educational enhancements, We CANN is an evidence-based approach to decreasing crime and health disparities. WE CANN teaches young Black men and women to become organizers of change through peer-to-peer training.
\nHomeownership: CAGI financial curriculum provides paths to asset ownership and wealth building through monthly homebuyer education workshops.\n<\/p>\n
