\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
To provide a leg up for youth in this marginalized community, Delta Advantage Center proposes Life Skills Development for Teens workshops that will provide a base for young people to achieve social and emotional health. Area youth ages 14 to 19 participating in activities at Delta Advantage Center\u2019s multipurpose center will participate in this series of workshops that will educate, inspire, and activate youth to be successful in whatever walk of life they choose. The workshops offer strategies and tips for making constructive decisions to positively affect the trajectory of their lives. Teens are encouraged to consider how their behavioral choices made now (whether positive or negative) can follow them for years. The workshops are designed to help the teen breakdown barriers to their success and embolden them as they become strong, efficient, and confident in themselves.

Delta Advantage Center (DAC) is a Mississippi nonprofit charitable organization with 501c3 IRS status headquartered in Moorhead, Sunflower County, Mississippi. DAC connects residents of the Mississippi Delta with needed social services, food resources, and programs that promote positive life experiences.
\nThe community is 87.35% black and has historically endured poverty and racial inequities. Moorhead has a population of 1,847. Average household income is $33,209 \u2013 with 38.2% of the residents living in poverty.
