CCFS is seeking $10k for each participant for our first cohort of 10 participants to be trained, certified, and working within 1 year. The program will primarily prepare transition-aged youth with prior justice and\/or foster system involvement for careers in the firefighter, nursing, plumbing, electrician and construction services to increase employment opportunities among typically disadvantaged populations, and help reduce recidivism. $300.00 will be given to participants every week for paid work experience to improve health and wellness along with improving public safety. We will offer free residential shared living accommodations and meals will be provided at CCFS training facilities. Equipment and classes that are needed will be paid fully for each participant certifications, trainings, and career guidance with preparation for Full Time and Seasonal positions. Expungement assistance, as needed for those that are justice involved. Case Management, housing and supportive services for all participants, job coaching and job placement assistance. (data will be given each year for 3 years on each participant that is funded). Each participant will be assessed for intake by a case manager to determine their career path.<\/p>\n
