The mission of Magnolia Preparatory (MP) is to provide interventional methods, such as STEM after-school tutoring and summer enrichment camps to minority, fourth-grade students who are products of an underrated and underrepresented elementary school district specific to East Central Mississippi (Noxubee County). Fourth graders in the Noxubee County School District (NCSD) are under-performing at a \u201cD\u201d level. This district’s average elementary\u00a0testing ranking is 1\/10, which is in the bottom 50% of public elementary schools in Mississippi. MP provides opportunities for minority, fourth-grade students through learning, motivation, and professional socialization. MP aligns with The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation because it
\nimproves and transforms the lives of children, and young adults and provides them with the necessary tools to succeed and achieve their full potential. MP focuses on one student at a time through mentorship, role modeling, active learning, and extracurricular activities. The request for funding from The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation is $10,000 to support Earl Nash Elementary School in Macon, MS for a STEM Tutoring\/Enrichment camp through our Magnolia Preparatory Program.<\/p>\n
