Project Title: Reading for the Stars
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
The program will be called \u201cReading for the Stars\u201d and will be for four-year olds to prepare them for kindergarten. This would be the only program of its kind. The children will focus on developing their reading skills, building social skills, fostering a love for learning, and establishing routines. By attending this program, we will instill a love for reading and be able to service the parents of these children by giving the students a safe, innovative space to attend the program. We hope that great experiences with wonderful books will spark the imagination and support to learn key early reading skills. This will ensure the children are on their way to success as readers and students. We will be able to assess the students in this program and assess their literacy understanding bi-weekly throughout the program to give us a solid track of progress. We feel that if the students show improvement our program was a success. We will also send home surveys twice a year to gauge the success of the program from the families we serve.<\/p>\n
