Project Title: Free Classroom Composting Program

Let’s Go Compost has a goal to make composting free and accessible. Our classroom composting program uses STEAM principles to teach students about composting and sustainability principles through science, technology, engineering, art, and math. We use upcycled buckets to create the free compost bins. Currently, we are not able to provide teachers with Red Wiggler worms and they must purchase them on their own. Worms for each bucket cost approximately $8 through a local vendor (AZ Worm Farm) or online through Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm. We would like to provide the teachers with the composting worms so they do not have to pay out of pocket or apply for grants for them. The $1,100 grant funding would allow us to give 125 buckets with worms.<\/p>\n
