\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
This introductory 12-week program increases girls’ awareness of mental health, focusing on social, emotional, and psychological well being. The first 12 weeks of the program will be delivered in person in a group setting. During this time, girls will have an opportunity to take part in various workshops and activities. To further their understanding of mental health and wellness, the group will explore the history of common mental health disorders, stigmas, and contributing factors, followed by various coping and self-care techniques and resources. <\/p>\n
The following 5 weeks, girls will have access to a therapist who will provide one-on-one sessions to identify and assess concerns surrounding mental and emotional wellbeing, personalized to their individual needs. Participants will meet with the therapist once a week. Girls will have the option to opt-out of counselling, and choose a group or one-on-one mental health check-ins with the program mentor. In addition, we will be providing free therapy sessions to the girls until the age of 21. <\/p>\n
The final week of the program will be a graduation ceremony and activity.\n<\/p>\n
