Therapeutic Riding
\nTherapeutic Riding is our most popular program. It is a mounted program with the goal of teaching riding skills to positively impact the cognitive, physical, and emotional wellbeing of the rider with special needs. Therapeutic riding rhythmically moves the rider\u2019s body in a motion that mimics the human gait. During a 45-minute to an hour lesson, a rider may experience therapeutic movement of their hips up to 2,500 times in a way that is not easily replicable with rehabilitative machinery and serves an adjunct treatment that provides benefits not found in standard medical interventions. <\/p>\n
The program is adapted to the meet needs of each individual rider that can enhance cognitive function, perceptual awareness, and fine or gross motor skills. Objectives include improved circulation, balance, coordination, strength, tone, postural reactions, agility, self-confidence, social adjustment, mental and physical relaxation. Our participants achieve developmental, physical and empowerment benefits through exercising control of their environment. Riding on the back of a majestic animal can also deliver strong feelings of self-worth and improved confidence. <\/p>\n
