ANGEL AID provides mental health and wellness services to caregivers, patients and professionals through sustainable psychosocial training, transformative retreats and a connective caregiver-to-caregiver multilingual network. We define Raregivers™ as caregivers, patients, family, friends, teachers, doctors, medical professionals, patient organizations, payers, biopharmaceutical employees, academics, advocates, technologists, and all others in the community giving their talents, time and life-force to further and honor chronically medicalized lives.

The goal of this program is to address unmet and/or disconnected mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of those in the rare diseases caregiver community, regardless of where they are in the continuum of their caregiving journey. The focus is to compile information and data already in existence; engage, listen to, capture, and map the rare caregiver MH&EW journey; use that data to create curriculum to train mental health providers to deliver aligned and informed individual, peer group, and peer lead support for the estimated 330,000+ families in Orange County, CA who would benefit.

The majority of services are delivered through hybrid, in-person, and virtual support groups hosted at ANGEL AID Retreat Center in Orange, CA. Program dollars are spent on hard-dollar costs to produce the program and contracted service fees for the ANGEL AID Health & Wellness Practitioners delivering the services. Nominal fees for strategy and ACH governance are provided by the CEO.

Total Project Budget: 629150

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Horizon Therapeutics and IONIS

Project Duration: July 1 2023 – December 31 2025
Geographical Area Served: Orange County, CA
Age Group To Be Served: 18+

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Mrs
Contact First Name: Cristol
Contact Last Name: O’Loughlin
Contact Title: CEO and Founder
Contact Phone: (415) 662-8450
Contact Email: grants2@angelaidcares.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: ANGEL AID Legal Name (if Different): A Nonprofit Group Enriching Lives, Inc.
