Project Title: Theatre Education Spring 2024 Semester

This grant would cover the costs of our education’s spring 2024 semester. With this grant we will be able to keep the cost of classes down, ensuring more students are able to attend. While also being able to continue to pay our educators at a reasonable rate. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem has been educating the youth of Winston-Salem in the theatre arts for over 60 years. Our classes cover introduction to acting for younger students as well as production classes including technical skills for older teens. Through these classes students gain confidence in themselves as well as their performing skills. Theatre teaches cooperation, creativity and self awareness. Through our character development classes students explore feelings and motivations that they are able to transfer into everyday life, thus becoming better citizens and friends. Acting lessons help with public speaking as they explore how to use their voice and become comfortable being in front of an audience. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem is known for its quality in the performing arts and we pride ourselves in bringing that experience to our students. With this grant we will be able to continue to provide this level of education to as many students as possible. Being able to pay our educators fairly ensures that we attract the most skilled and passionate teachers and are able to keep them in the program for years to come.<\/p>\n
