Project Title: Empowering Leaders of Tomorrow Today
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
This project is created to support underprivileged teen youth ages 13-19 years old who reside in urban areas where crime and poverty exists. Special priority and support is given to teen parents where they may take advantage of childcare and youthful parent coaching. This program is structured to serve up to 30 community youth in two separate 10-week cohorts that will offer training and education on building emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, overcoming personal and family trauma(s), short term goal setting, long term goal achievement, achieving academic success, future career planning, financial literacy, reproductive health, and body autonomy. Each weekly engagement will be lecture style open learning that will allow the voices and opinions of the youth participants to be heard and validated. Breakout sessions, role play, and youth group presentations will be modalities of teaching content. This program will also highlight, define, and place a strong focus on the importance of proper etiquette, the importance of good health and hygiene, good citizenship, and offer 1:1 youth empowerment coaching with a LCSW and Master Educator. This program will offer ongoing mentorship and support to each youth served for the duration of the year following the completion of their cohort and will host follow up monthly meetings to foster connection to supportive community resources. <\/p>\n
