With an aim to spark the imagination and engagement in performing arts, each year mandi Theater hosts ‘Annual Theater Festival’ in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Chicago. This is the only Multi language theater festival in the Midwest that not only promotes Indian culture and tradition through their performances but we also encourage various repertory and contemporary dance works that strive to educate and amplify the artistry of young generations. The annual theater festival is a platform that identifies, recognizes, and honors the theater groups that leverage the power of theater to bring a change.
\nIn 2022, at our 6th Annual theater festival there were seven different participating groups, eight languages, and nine performances including three dance dramas.
\nThis festival offers the community an opportunity for the exposure, enjoyment, and education of a series of well-known, classic, and diverse plays in various languages including Hindi and English. Our primary focus is on supporting the development, growth, and visibility of local artists and arts organizations to inspire creativity.
\nThis festival also aims to help sustain diverse art forms and traditions and nurture the voices and talents of artists of Indian origin and showcase the culture of India through performances and workshops.
\nThe grant of $5,000 will strengthen communities, celebrate diversity and integrate theatre, literacy, social and emotional learning.\n<\/p>\n
