The Village is a 40-bed group home facility that opened its doors in May, 2004 to provide a safe haven for abused youth. Youth, ages 12 to 17, are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect. Hibiscus Children\u2019s Village was founded to provide children a safe haven that was built on love, nurturing and encouragement with all efforts to help boys and girls have a bright and successful future. The Career Pathways to Independence program supports our mission by expanding foster youth\u2019s horizons, helping them reach their full potential. This educational program provides individualized assistance to children whose traumatic experiences have virtually halted the educational process. The program increases attendance and engagement in school, higher achievement levels, and graduating with the skills, knowledge and exposure to pursue post-secondary options or careers.
