For more than 20 years, Jubilee has served as a lifeline for the homeless and economically disadvantaged of South Broward County. Our mission is to provide emergency resources and relief from hunger and despair. Everyone who comes to our door is assisted. Approximately 20% of the people we help are under age 18. With limited staff and a small budget of only $210,000, we rely on trained volunteers to perform more than 75% of our work. Our services include: a Soup Kitchen and an Office of Social Services. The Soup Kitchen serves a nutritious, hot lunch to approximately 200 a day, Monday – Friday. In addition, economically disadvantaged seniors are served a special meal in their honor every Monday at 3pm. The Office of Social Services, open Monday through Friday, gives referrals for employment and shelter. It also provides emergency pantry food (for families), hygiene kits, clothing, mental health counseling, photo I.D.\\’s, HIV\/AIDS testing, Legal Aid, Veteran\\’s Assistance, and transportation vouchers. However, perhaps the most important job of the Office of Social Services is to be an understanding friend who will listen to their story and care about their problem.\n<\/p>\n
