Project Title: OrcheSTARS! Music Program
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
OrcheSTARS! is an ongoing component of YOSAL\u2019s programming and serves children in 1st through 4th grade. It sets the foundation for the rest of the program, as the students involved are the youngest and will eventually grow to be advanced musicians in our symphonic program. Among the program\u2019s objectives are to teach students how to read music, work on ear training, establish good practice habits, and foster a sense of belonging within the YOSAL community, all in preparation for learning to play an orchestral instrument. Students spend between one and four years in the OrcheSTARS! program, until they reach the fourth grade. <\/p>\n
At that point, they transition to group classes where they focus on one of the orchestra instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, or percussion.<\/p>\n
