Khan Academy is a 501(c)3 educational not-for-profit organization with a mission to \u201cprovide a free world-class education to anyone anywhere.\u201d <\/p>\n
We believe that students of all ages should have free, unlimited access to top-notch educational content on any topic and that students (of all ages) should be able to consume and master this content at their own pace. Khan Academy is comprised of five main elements (Content, Exercises, Data & Analytics, Teacher Took-Kit and Discovery Lab Summer Camps) that are freely available to all users through our website.<\/p>\n
We believe that new educational institutions and models emerge at major inflection points in history and that the information revolution is one of those inflection points. With the technology that exists today, we are working to fundamentally transform education. <\/p>\n
Sal Khan, the Founder and CEO talks about how he got started in his 2011 TED talk \u201cSalman Khan: Let\\’s use video to reinvent education\u201c (goo.gl\/EIy4R) which has now been viewed over 5M times. We would like to leverage a grant from the The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation to continue our work developing our \u201cTeacher Took-Kit\u201d. Based on the work that we have been doing with several schools to implement Khan Academy in the classroom, we are creating this online \u201ctoolkit\u201d to empower teachers, parents and mentors (who we call \u201ccoaches\u201d) with the tools they need to leverage our content and platform in their homes and schools. <\/p>\n
