Our mission is to utilize the power of teams as the vehicle to promote education, reinforce values, and provide our youth with a safe environment to play, learn and grow. The RS Scholars Program is designed to bridge the social class opportunity gap. Our goal is to improve the lives of underserved youth. Through academic and social-emotional support, we
\nhave been extremely successful in turning the dream of becoming a first-generation college student into a reality
\nfor many children.<\/p>\n
The grant would provide fellowships known as the RS Scholars Program for eligible scholars. Specifically, for each fellowship recipient, it would fund an academic advisor who would develop and manage an individualized educational and advocacy plan for each student; tuition support to attend a high-quality private High School; admissions testing preparation and expenses; SAT\/ACT preparation courses and college advising.<\/p>\n
Further, all our scholar-athletes who are part of the RS Scholars Program are given the chance to participate in our competitive team sports program at no cost. These RS Scholars are not only given the opportunity of being part of a team, they are given a surrogate family and a bridge for them to connect with family, school, and community. All athletic costs (coach\/mentors, training, uniforms, tournament fees and travel expenses) are included.<\/p>\n

We differ from larger organizations in our focus on and ability to provide solutions tailored to meet our participants\u2019 specific needs. We understand that education is best delivered in a dynamic and engaging environment, and we are confident that by leveraging our nationally recognized athletic program and following a carefully planned program structure we can drive significant scholastic improvements as well as lay a strong foundation for college and career success.<\/p>\n
