KidSafe has developed practical ways to strengthen families and protect children from falling victim to sexual abuse and trafficking. Our proven Stay KidSafe! program empowers children to stay safe from abuse through its in-school discussions of technology, body boundaries, trusted adults, and the importance of valuing and respecting oneself. In line with Florida\u2019s mandate for child abuse\/child-trafficking prevention education for students Grades K-12, KidSafe has created a new 3-D animation platform, supported by the Florida Department of Education, to ensure the accessibility and ease of delivery for its proven messaging which has educated 60,000 Florida children and 30,000 child-serving adults since 2009.
\nA grant of $7,500 will assist KidSafe Foundation in bringing its program into a minimum of twelve Palm Beach County Schools that are already engaged through our programming staff and ready to begin the Stay KidSafe! program in K – 5th grades in the fall of the 2022-2023 academic year touching a minimum of 12,000 PBC students. Our programming staff will interface with classroom teachers to ensure that they are using the programs\u2019 accompanying lesson plans and teacher guidance materials appropriately. Teachers and guidance counselors will be personally encouraged by our program staff and will receive guidance in providing the program to students . To further encourage teachers, we will offer incentives that will motivate their interest and involvement in the program.
\nAs part of our in-person guidance, we will highlight the accompanying books that we are giving to each classroom in grades K-2, showing teachers how the books can reinforce their teaching of Stay KidSafe! concepts in the classroom. Teachers and guidance counselors may benefit from reviewing the parent guidebook materials themselves to strengthen their understanding of the program concepts and may also share the guidebooks with parents, offering to lend them as they see fit.\n<\/p>\n
