Project Title: Fostering Futures
\nProject Description:<\/p>\n
Fostering Futures provides youth ages 12-18 residing in Los Angeles County with entrepreneur training. This intensive program provides participants with foundational knowledge, resources, and support to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.<\/p>\n
During summer 2022, we will conduct three cohorts. Cohort A will consist of current foster youth, Cohort B will consist of English language speakers, and Cohort C will encompass Dual Immersion. This program will serve a diverse student body, focusing on entrepreneurship education for young people from under-resourced areas. Most of our Youth are people of color, including over three-quarters of Black and Latin X heritage.<\/p>\n
We utilize guiding principles developed by helping dispel the common myths of entrepreneurship and shaping youth’s understanding of the entrepreneurial journey. This approach has a bias towards action aligned with "learning by doing" techniques and helps youth quickly get their ventures off the ground.<\/p>\n
Our goal is to inspire these young learners to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and launch successful small businesses. We hope that the alumni continue to run their businesses long after they complete the program or go on to build new companies that create jobs and drive economic growth. Entrepreneurship education not only changes the lives of young learners but also kickstarts inclusive growth and changes communities<\/p>\n
