Operation Build Strong Minds and Bodies: Healthy Futures Initiative is a year-round youth development program serving children and teens throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The program provides underserved youth with access to STEM education, nutrition education, healthy lifestyle instruction, leadership development, mentoring, and life skills in a safe, supportive environment.<\/p>\n
Many of the children we serve face financial barriers and have limited access to high-quality enrichment opportunities outside of school. Through after-school programs, seasonal camps, and community outreach, participants develop critical thinking, teamwork, confidence, resilience, and healthy habits while engaging in hands-on educational experiences that support academic and personal growth.<\/p>\n
A $10,000 grant from the Hermanowski Family Foundation will provide scholarships for children in need and support STEM learning materials, nutrition education resources, leadership curriculum, and program supplies. By removing financial barriers and expanding access to educational and wellness opportunities, the project will help children build the knowledge, confidence, and healthy behaviors needed to succeed in school and throughout life. Program success will be measured through enrollment, attendance, participant retention, and pre- and post-program assessments that evaluate improvements in STEM learning, leadership development, nutrition knowledge, and healthy lifestyle behaviors.<\/p>\n
