As the CEO and founder, I know deeply the need for an organization that provides mentorship to at-risk youth as they transition into adulthood. The parent of a gun violence survivor myself, I took notice of the severe lacking in gun violence prevention programs for children and youth. As the school shooting rates continue to rise, Cycle Breakers was born.

Currently offering our services in the state of Kentucky, we intend for our impact to be national. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive program that fosters personal growth, education, accountability, mentoring and responsibility to at-risk youth – whether that be socioeconomically or due to mental health. We currently offer a curriculum-based program in partnership with local schools and Boys and Girls Clubs. It is open – beginning at age 12 – to youth and young adults and will address cognitive behaviors, conflict resolution, coping with trauma, mental health, sex education and healthy relationship indicators and will come with backing material to help demonstrate the life skills learned.
Cycle Breakers Breaking Chains is a new and growing and was severely impacted during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Staff and volunteer numbers dwindled as we restructured our programs to evolve with the times. Ultimately, the organization cannot meet any of its set goals without an increase in donations.

Total Project Budget: $50,000.00

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): N/A

Project Duration: All year
Geographical Area Served: Louisville, Kentucky (Jefferson County)
Age Group To Be Served: 12-26

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Kenya
Contact Last Name: Wade
Contact Title: CEO
Contact Phone: (502715-2131
Contact Email: Kenya@Cyclebreakers.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Cycle Breakers Breaking Chains Inc Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: C.
