Both initiatives are designed to strengthen literacy skills, improve reading comprehension, and cultivate a lifelong love for reading among youth in low-income and underserved communities.

Read Think Grow is a structured, year-round literacy program that focuses on guided reading instruction, vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, and critical thinking exercises. Through intentional curriculum support, discussion-based learning, and written reflection, students build foundational reading skills and academic confidence.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a seasonal initiative that encourages students to complete up to 100 hours of independent reading between June 1 and July 31 to prevent summer learning loss. Participants track their daily reading, engage in biweekly virtual discussions, and earn milestone incentives that reinforce consistency and engagement. We are expanding access to diverse genres, including manga, contemporary novels, culturally relevant literature, nonfiction, and graphic novels, to ensure students remain motivated and connected to reading.

Total Project Budget: 35000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): (Potential)Walmart, (Commited) Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant,(Commited) individual donations,(Commited) local business book contributions.

Project Duration: This is a year long initiative
Geographical Area Served: These programs are available both locally and nationally through online access, allowing students from across the country to participate in weekly meet-ups, online discussion groups, and virtual book clubs.
