DC Collaborative supports programs across all arts disciplines and program types while prioritizing artistic/humanities merit, diversity, and student engagement. A volunteer peer committee, consisting of local school and education professionals, reviews all submitted programs while also upholding these standards. We use an internal assigning rubric to prioritize programs for high-need schools, and require all AHFES partners to offer their programming at no-cost to schools. We manage the logistics—including program registration, transportation coordination, and school/partner communication—so that educators and artists can focus on delivering quality experiences.

The Collaborative connects students to programs that are relevant to their identity and experiences, and participants have consistently confirmed; 61% of students agreed in FY23, 73% in FY24, and 84% in FY25. A teacher at Dorothy Heights Elementary School offered “through field trips, DC Collaborative has allowed my students to have rich discussions, increase their vocabulary, make connections to the world, and become more tolerant of the world outside of themselves. As an educator, I feel that the experiences are invaluable for myself and for my students. Students are given hands-on experiences that they may not be able to access otherwise.”

Total Project Budget: 227,780

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, The Nancy Peery Marriott Foundation, Agua Fund.

Project Duration: July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027
Geographical Area Served: Washington, DC
Age Group To Be Served: 5-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Alorie
Contact Last Name: Clark
Contact Title: Executive Director
Contact Phone: 202-570-9300
Contact Email: alorie@dccollaborative.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative Legal Name (if Different): DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative Also Known As: DC Collaborative Mailing Address: 853 New Jersey Ave SE, Suite 200 City: Washington State: District of Columbia Postal Code: 20003 Main Phone: 202-470-6467 Main Fax: Organization Website: www.dccollaborative.org […]

[3

post-10587","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
