Founded to address systemic inequities in education, Inn Dwelling provides academic enrichment, mentorship, and scholarship support to help students succeed in rigorous academic environments and beyond.

Our work centers on two core programs. The Sophia Program serves select 7th and 8th grade students, providing advanced afterschool instruction in math, English Language Arts, and high school placement test preparation (HSPT)—opportunities not available in their home schools. This early intervention equips students, many of whom are “taught to the middle” in under-resourced schools, with the skills and confidence to gain admission to highly competitive private college preparatory high schools. As a result, 95% of our 8th graders are accepted, receiving an average of $25,400 in annual scholarships.

Our high school program provides ongoing academic support, mentorship, leadership development, and financial assistance to ensure students thrive. Through tutoring, test prep, college exposure, and a $3,000 gap scholarship, students persist and succeed on a path toward selective colleges and careers.

Inn Dwelling primarily serves low-income students through partnerships with Independence Mission Schools, where 92% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our mission is to ensure all bright, hardworking students—regardless of zip code—can achieve their full potential.

Total Project Budget: $356,052

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Grants Committed: $162,000 / Potential to date: $198,000

Project Duration: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
Geographical Area Served: Philadelphia, PA
Age Group To Be Served: 12-18

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.): Ms.
Contact First Name: Amie Lee
Contact Last Name: Morrisey
Contact Title: Director of Advancement
Contact Phone: 2679683712
Contact Email: amorrisey@inndwelling.org

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: Inn Dwelling Legal Name (if Different): Inn Dwelling Also Known As: N/A Mailing Address: 109 East Price Street City: Philadelphia State: PA Postal Code: 19125 Main Phone: 2154382195 Main Fax: Organization Website: inndwelling.org Employer ID Number: 23-2173051 Organization Tax Status: 501c3 Proposal Information Today’s Date: 3/24/2026 Requested […]

[3

post-10575","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
