Fueled by the knowledge that all youth can accomplish BIG things, for over 60 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami (BBBS Miami) has been South Florida\u2019s premier mentoring organization, creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. <\/p>\n
The One-to-One Mentoring program is at the core of BBBS Miami. By matching at-risk youth (Littles) with committed adult mentors (Bigs), we ensure all youth, no matter their background, have a positive role model who empowers them to achieve their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow. Expanding upon the traditional mentoring model, BBBS Miami offers a variety of mentoring opportunities for youth in the community. In response to COVID-19 concerns, all activities can be held either in-person or virtually. <\/p>\n
\u2022\tCommunity-Based Mentoring: Bigs and Littles explore the local community together at least twice monthly and share fun, culturally enriching activities they both enjoy.
\n\u2022\tBigs in Schools: Bigs visit their Littles at school or at the Carnival Center for Excellence after school once a week throughout the school year.
\n\u2022\tSchool to Work: Littles in high school are transported to their Bigs\u2019 place of work once a month throughout the school year for a morning of life skills and career development, as well as one-to-one job shadowing and mentoring.
\n\u2022\tGraduate Program: Littles who graduate high school and their Bigs have the option to receive continued professional support of their mentoring relationship as the Little begins to navigate adult life.
\n\u2022\tBigs in Blue: Local police officers serve as Bigs through any one of the one-to-one mentoring programs.<\/p>\n
BBBS Miami programs provide today\u2019s youth with the resources necessary for tomorrow\u2019s success. By providing a variety of mentoring opportunities for youth in the community, BBBS Miami gives youth a chance to achieve their full potential.\n<\/p>\n
