The program pairs trained tutors\u2014often adults aged 50 and older\u2014with elementary school students, focusing primarily on improving reading skills by the end of third grade, a critical milestone for long-term academic success.<\/p>\n
Within Elev8 Baltimore, Experience Corps operates as part of a broader community school model that integrates academic support with family engagement, health services, and enrichment opportunities. Tutors work consistently with the same students, building strong, supportive relationships that boost confidence, motivation, and classroom engagement.
