Make Promises Happen, a Twin Cedars Camp, provides quality, engaging camping and outdoor recreation programs for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. We believe that the experiences individuals have in the outdoors, learning new skills, building new relationships, and getting outside of their comfort zones, are truly transformational, and that ALL people, regardless of ability, background, or identity. In 2025, this program served 693 participants and provided more than 48,000 hours of respite care to parents and full-time caregivers of campers with disabilities. <\/p>\n
The cost for a camper and their one-to-one volunteer to attend a week of camp is $700. Our organization has never turned a camper away due to a lack of funds. A gift of 8,400 from the Hermanowski Foundation would provide full scholarships for 12 campers and their one-to-one volunteer caregiver for a week of summer camp. <\/p>\n
