While school breaks are often seen as downtime, they can be a challenging time for working families who still need safe, enriching environments for their children. KOS turns these closure days into opportunities for exploration, creativity, and skill building.
During these programs, students in grades K–5 participate in project-based workshops across several creative disciplines. Activities include STEAM and maker projects, fiber arts such as sewing and crafting, performing arts, and supervised introductory woodshop. Children design, build, experiment, and create using real tools and materials in a structured environment guided by experienced instructors.
Rather than passive childcare, the program focuses on active learning. Students may build simple engineering structures, learn basic sewing skills, create costumes and performances, or construct beginner woodworking projects. Each activity encourages curiosity, problem solving, and persistence while helping children build confidence in their abilities.
KOS serves children ages five to eleven and intentionally keeps programming accessible to families with diverse interests and learning styles. The workshop model allows students to explore multiple subjects and discover new passions they may not encounter during the traditional school day.
Since its founding, KOS has served over 2,500 children in the Cobb County community. Demand continues to grow as families seek meaningful ways for their children to spend school closure days.
By transforming school breaks into engaging learning experiences, KOS provides children with opportunities to create, collaborate, and gain practical skills that stay with them long after camp ends.

Total Project Budget: 10,000

Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Potential Sources: 2026 Brabson Family Foundation Proposal $6,400

Project Duration: 1 year
Geographical Area Served: Cobb County, GA
Age Group To Be Served: Grades K–5

Contact Information

Contact Prefix (Mr,Mrs etc.):
Contact First Name: Rosanna
Contact Last Name: Fleeman
Contact Title: Grant Manager
Contact Phone: 6185594166
Contact Email: rosanna.fleeman@gmail.com

Hermanowski Family Foundation Initial Request Form Organization Name: KoS Inc Legal Name (if Different): Also Known As: Mailing Address: 1125 Concord Rd Se Ste B City: Smyrna State: Georgia Postal Code: 30080 Main Phone: 6789448873 Main Fax: Organization Website: https://www.kossmyrna.org/ Employer ID Number: 86-2557325 Organization Tax Status: 501(c)(3) Proposal Information Today’s Date: March 15, 2026 […]

[3

post-10062","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-grants
["GET
